Subject: [Tails-l10n] Temporary Transifex resource for new Tails Greeter
Hi Colin,

I'm putting tails-l10n@???, which is our translators mailing list,
and Alan, who's the main author of Tails Greeter, in copy.

We have been working for years on a complete redesign and rewrite of
Tails Greeter. We're about to get there and will release it together
with Tails 3.0 at some point in 2017.

The user-visible strings are ready and we would like to make the PO file
available on Transifex to have it translated when we release it. But we
also want to keep the current PO file for the current version. Yes, both
version are too different to combine both PO files.

I guess we should create a new resource for the new version, temporarily
available in parallel of the current version. The POT file for the new
version can be tracked in a dedicated branch, but it has the same name
as the current version:

https://git-tails.immerda.ch/greeter/tree/po/tails-greeter.pot?h=feature/revamp_phase1

How should we go about that? We could name it tails-greeter-2.pot during
the transition maybe.

And while we're talking about Transifex, I sometimes wonder whether
Tails should have their own Transifex project under the umbrella or the
Localization Lab. Because right now, I think we have an account with
very limited permissions (pretty much like a translators I think). On
the other hand, having our resources along with yours is probably good
to have them translated by more people and possibly faster...

What do you think? Can you summarize quickly what's possible to do with
you type of Transifex account that's not currently possible with our
type of Transifex account?
