senza polemiche, solo due annotazioni:

I Negativland sono stati, nella seconda meta'
degli anni '80, tra i primi a porsi la questione
del copyright. Le loro motivazioni sono molto
diverse dalle nostre ma sono certamente da
considerarsi dei pionieri, perdipiu' famosissimi
(insomma giulio, e' come scrivere a Mina: ho
sentito un tuo demo, ma che bella voce hai...;-).
Essendo americani (come John Oswald, un altro
pioniere - vieppiu' distante da noi) si trovano
ad operare in un contesto legale e di diritti
completamente diverso dal nostro, e la loro
esperienza ci servirebbe a poco. Inoltre, come
tutti gli americani anche solo leggermente
politicizzati, sono un po' nel pallone. Circa una
decina di anni fa (otto, per l'esattezza) mi sono
trovato ad un dibattito internazionale (in
europa) in cui proprio Mark ha lungamente
sostenuto, con convincenti argomentazioni, che un
certo decreto statunitense (il DMCA) era una
legge orribile e liberticida. Quando gli s'e'
fatto notare che qua non e' il Minnesota e il
DMCA non si applica ha avuto un momento di
confusione; quando qualcun altro gli ha fatto
notare che in Europa abbiamo il diritto d'autore
(che e' assai diverso dagli USA), c'e' proprio
rimasto male. Nessuno gli ha detto, per
gentilezza, che immaginare che le leggi Usa
valgano anche altrove e' orribile, e indice di
una mentalita' neo-imperialista.
TUTTE le mie esperienze di politica con
statunitensi si sono sempre rivelate una
delusione. Mi fa piacere che li abbiamo
informati, ma anche che non c'hanno i soldi per
venire. La stessa opinione ce l'avrei se si
decidesse di invitare Michael Moore o i Rage
against the machine. Farei un'eccezione solo per
Charles Manson....;/)
