Greetings,
A new version of mat2 was released, the 0.15.0, on the 4th of
August, 2026. Signed snapshots are available under the appropriate
tag[1]. Here's the list of new things:
- Be more upfront about the limited HEIC support
- Remove setup.py and fully embrace pyproject.toml
- Add integration with Cinammon's file manager Nemo
- Improve compatibility with modern Python
- Don't change the PDF version of cleaned files
- Remove APEv2 and ID3v1 tags appended to mp3, ogg and flac files
- Add avif support
- Add jpeg xl (jxl) support
- Improve odt support
- Improve startup performances on modern python thanks to PEP0810
- Stop reordering elements in office files, only sort their attributes. This
improves compatibility with MS Office.
