This release is an emergency release to fix important security vulnerabilities
in _Tor Browser_.
# Changes and updates
* Update _Tor Browser_ to [15.0.11](
https://blog.torproject.org/new-release-tor-browser-15011/), which fixes [several vulnerabilities in _Firefox_ 140.10.1](
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/mfsa2026-36/).
We are not aware of these vulnerabilities being exploited in practice until
now.
* Update _Thunderbird_ to [140.10.0](
https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/140.10.0esr/releasenotes/).
* Stop making it possible to start our ISO images from a USB stick.
Since [2019](
https://tails.net/news/version_3.12/), we recommend _USB images_
to start Tails from a USB stick, which is by far the most common way of
running Tails.
We still distribute [_ISO images_](
https://tails.net/install/download-
iso/index.en.html) to start Tails from a DVD or in a virtual machine. Until
now, these ISO images worked on USB sticks as well, but provided a degraded
experience without automatic upgrades or Persistent Storage.
Our ISO images no longer work on USB sticks to save a few megabytes and
prevent confusion for people who use USB sticks.

# Get Tails 7.7.1
## To upgrade your Tails USB stick and keep your Persistent Storage
* Automatic upgrades are available from Tails 7.0 or later to 7.7.1.
* If you cannot do an automatic upgrade or if Tails fails to start after an automatic upgrade, please try to do a [manual upgrade](

The Persistent Storage on the USB stick will be lost if you install instead of
