Hello,
I am Soul, a 19-year-old who at the beginning of 2025 spent two months in prison for refusing to join the Israeli Occupation Forces.
I refuse to remain silent while our society hides in a bubble of complacency.
While many here continue their lives as if everything is normal, winter has been turned into a weapon of war. In Gaza, families are dying of cold amidst the ruins we created. In the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the Naqab desert in 1948 Palestine, soldiers and settlers continue a systematic ethnic cleansing campaign to uproot Palestinians from their land. Most horrifyingly, Palestinians are being raped and tortured in Israeli prisons , atrocities committed in our names.

Yuval Peleg has spent over 120 days in prison across four terms, and the army still refuses to exempt him. R’ was sentenced to his second 30 day prison term, while another anonymous refuser is in a similar situation, having served one term with another likely coming.

Yet, on a more hopeful note, Yona Roseman was finally released after enduring 50 days in isolation. Upon her release she stated: “Every agreement or deal can only slow down the atrocities… But the occupation, the apartheid, the Nakba will continue as long as we don’t deal with the issue at its core. We must struggle for liberation, for justice, and against Zionism”
