First, thanks a lot for all the work you do. Tails is amazing and I really appreciate how much you care about privacy and security.
I noticed that aircrack‑ng is going to be removed in Tails 7.0, and I wanted to ask you to reconsider keeping it. I use aircrack‑ng legally to test Wi‑Fi networks in my own controlled setups. It’s really important for learning and for practicing security testing safely.
Tails is honestly the safest place to use it—everything runs in RAM, and Persistent Storage lets me keep configs without leaving traces. If aircrack‑ng is removed, I’d have to use other systems that aren’t as safe or anonymous, which isn’t ideal.
I understand it could be misused, but most of us who need it use it responsibly. Keeping it in Tails would let students, researchers, and people like me experiment safely and legally without compromising our privacy.
I really hope you’ll consider leaving aircrack‑ng in Tails 7.0. It’s a small tool, but it makes a big difference for people learning about security the right way.
Thanks for reading, and thanks again for all your work.
