The IUS unites scientists worldwide to resist the misuse of science for
destructive purposes and to redirect science and technology toward
peace, equity, and the betterment of humanity. Our mission includes
raising awareness among both the scientific community and the public to
stand against war and the militarization of science, fostering
scientific solidarity, advocating for equitable access to knowledge,
combating discrimination, and addressing climate and environmental
challenges.
Across the globe, wars continue to cause thousands of deaths and
displace millions, often with scientific knowledge exploited to harm
innocent civilians. In this critical moment, it is essential to unite
scientists and organizations to resist this destruction of humanity. We
therefore invite you to endorse this statement and join us in amplifying
a collective voice against war and the destructive use of science and
technology.
