Hi,
Since at least 2021 (#16221), we stopped using CSS classes to format
special elements in the documentation, like application names and menu path.
For example, until then we used to write:
<span class="application">Tor Browser</span>
Now, we're writing:
*Tor Browser*
Much easier to translate!
Since 2021, I only removed the previous CSS classes when updating a
string for other reasons. That prevented breaking existing translations,
but it remained harder to write translations for older strings.
Some 4 years later, we still had around 500 hundred of these DocBook
classes in the English source. The strategy of progressive replacement
was not really working...
I finally came up with a procedure to replace automatically these CSS
classes with Markdown or simpler HTML.
Now, There are no DocBook classes in the English source anymore. Most
DocBook classes were also replaced in translations as well.
Some old translations still have DocBook classes. I removed the "fuzzy"
tag on these, even if the syntax doesn't match the source file because
the result is the same on the website.
For example, there might be "*Tor Browser*" in the English source and
still "<span class="application">Tor Browser</span>" in some translations.
In the end, only few translations got broken in the process:

The process was a bit chaotic and I might have had better options in
retrospect, but I hope that the results is still better than what we've
had until now.
