Hi,
I'll be the release manager for Tails 2.9 (just like I was gonna be for
the cancelled Tails 2.8 [0]), which is a point release scheduled on
2016-12-13. The list of tickets targeting Tails 2.9 can be found here:
https://labs.riseup.net/code/projects/tails/issues?query_id=217
Yes, all tickets targeting 2.8 is not targeting 2.9, so you might want
to look over your tickets, moving those that target the next *major*
release to 2.10.
Here's the actual release schedule:
* 2016-12-12:
- All branches targeting Tails 2.9 *must* be merged into the `stable`
branch by noon, CET.
- The upcoming Tor Browser is hopefully out so we can import it.
- Build and upload Tails 2.9 ISO image and IUKs.
- Hopefully start testing Tails 2.9.
* 2016-12-13:
- Finish testing Tails 2.9 by the afternoon, CET.
- Release Tails 2.9 during late CET.
Testers, please let me know:
* if you are available on 2016-12-12, late CET
* if you are available on 2016-12-13, morning to afternoon, CET.
Actually, I will assume that those who reported availability for these
dates for the cancelled 2.8 release's testing will be available now as
well.
Cheers!
