Author: intrigeri Date: To: tails-dev Subject: [Tails-dev] [review'n'merge:1.4.1] eatmydata is not being used in
the build chroot (#9419)
Hi,
it was noticed that eatmydata is actually *not* being used for most of
the Tails build process. Let's fix that. The needed changes live in
two different repositories:
* live-build: tails/debian-old-2.0+faketime
* main Tails Git repo: bugfix/9419-eatmydata-in-build-chroot
See #9419#note-3 regarding how to get and test the updated live-build.
Once successfully reviewed and tested, I'm happy to take care of the
merge and re-upload it for both i386 and amd64 into our builder-wheezy
APT suite, if the reviewer doesn't feel at ease doing that.
And then, I'll update the build doc and send a heads up to
code contributors.
Also note that the proposed live-build changes also include a tiny,
unrelated one that will also make things a bit easier when working on
reproducible builds (#5630). This is meant to minimize the number of
times we have to go through this special merge process.
