JOB PROFILE
The researcher will work in the Centre for European Studies (CEE) at Sciences Po, parttake in project activities including seminars, workshops and conferences as well as develop individual research in the area of, for instance, the history of prediction and foresight, its role as political technology and instrument of national, transnational and global governance, the sociology of anticipation and futures, or the intellectual history of future ideas.
TASKS
To develop individual research and publications within the interests of Futurepol.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED
- PhD finished and defended by January 1st
- Ability to write academic English, or, if French speaking, excellent knowledge of English
- High level of scientific independence and originality including an interest in problems to do with the social construction of futures
- Special competence in one or several of the following, the history of science or STS-studies, political science or sociology around questions of governance, international relations or transnational history, political history or sociology of anticipation
STATUS
- Full time fixed-term contract for 24 months (starting on January 1st, 2013)
- Possibility to teach at Sciences Po
