SOAS: PH.D. STUDENTSHIPS IN POLITICS
The Department of Politics and International Studies at SOAS is pleased to invite applications for several PhD Studentships beginning in 2012-2013.
1. ESRC-funded PhD Studentships
Together with the Department of Politics at Birkbeck College (University of London), two PhD studentships will be offered during the 2012 competition.
Outstanding students who have completed an MSc Politics programme with ESRC-recognised methods training are eligible to apply for +3 scholarship funds to support their doctoral research at either SOAS or Birkbeck.
Promising students who have a very strong undergraduate degree (first class or 2:1) are eligible to apply for 1+3 scholarship support to fund one year of MRes study in research methods at Birkbeck followed by three years of doctoral study at either Birkbeck or SOAS.

2. Department of Politics PhD Studentship
The Department of Politics and International Studies at SOAS will support one PhD studentship for a student admitted to the MPhil/PhD programme in Politics beginning in 2012-2013.
The application deadline for scholarship consideration is 31 January 2012. (All students who meet this deadline and are admitted to the programm will be considered for this studentship.)

3. SOAS-Wide Studentships
All students admitted to the MPhil/PhD programme in Politics at SOAS are also eligible to be considered for the SOAS Research Scholarship and the SOAS Doctoral Scholarship competition. The application deadline for scholarship consideration is 31 January 2012.
Please note that applicants for SOAS-wide fellowships require a first-class postgraduate degree. Additional information can be found here:
