Dear Friends,

On the 100th anniversary of the International Women's Day, say NO to violence against women by joining the 2nd annual Women on the Bridges campaign.

On March 8, men and women around the world will unite on bridges near them, calling for peace, in solidarity with women in Afghanistan and elsewhere who are marginalized in their country’s peace processes. There are many ways that you can help!

• Attend a Bridge Event near you
• Can't be there in person? Join us on the Virtual Bridge Event! Click on the map for an event that says hosted online.
• Sign the Petition on Say NO urging foreign ministers around the world to promote women's rights and participation in the peace process in Afghanistan.
• Watch the Say NO Video of the Week and be counted!

And don’t forget to spread the word through your blogs, Facebook and Twitter!

The Women on the Bridge campaign started last year, with women uniting on a bridge bordering war ravaged Congo and Rwanda, calling for peace. Over 20,000 women and men joined them in solidarity on bridges across 4 continents. This year, we are standing on bridges for the women in Afghanistan, who are still being excluded from taking part in peace negotiations. The Say NO team spoke to Afghan activist Nadine Gross recently about why it is important for us to take action. Read more here!

Sincerely,

Say NO Team, UN Women
