cari amici,
about the domain name : at <
http://www.gandi.net/> you can buy a name
for euros 12 a year, plus IVA. But it doesn't give you loading space
(which should not be very difficult to find)
about the site : there's a very nice and easy free software system,
called spip, which allows one to build a web site without any
dedicated software (html editor such as Dreamweaver or GoLive, or
uploading software such as ftp) : all you need is a browser, an
internet connexion, a login and a password, and you either type the
articles or put them by cut-and-paste. From my experience, people can
be taught the B-A BA of spip in 1h30
Several people can collaborate : the site does not rely on one single person.
For example, at Act Up-Paris there's a guy currently at an
international conference in Warsaw, every night he puts on the site a
relation of the day meetings, instead of sending them to our
mailing-list ; and it's not more complicated than sending a mail
(<

the excellent <
http://www.meltingpot.org/> is based upon spip, as
well as the French sans papiers site <
http://pajol.eu.org/>, and many
others (including huge sites such as Monde Diplomatique
<
http://www.monde-diplomatique.fr/>)
if you're interested, we can talk about it during ESF, even starting
directly your site. You can also contact meltingpot
